About:

This short reel contains a series of animations that I developed in the fall of 2022. Each animation followed a different prompt. I had a week and a half to complete each one.

"Bouncing Goblin"

The prompt was to animate an object bouncing. I chose to animate a very buoyant goblin on his way to attack a poor creature. This exercise taught me a lot about the maintenance of volume as well as timing and spacing.

"Waving Flag"

The prompt was to animate a flag flowing through two cycles in an environment. My flag is proudly waving in a hidden swamp. This was my introduction to straight-ahead FX animation. I enjoyed developing the rhythm of each cycle.

"Flour Sack Jumps"

The prompt was to animate a pantomiming flour sack as it prepares and jumps over an object. I chose to animate my flour sack jumping over a huge creature, turning the sack into an action hero. Anthropomorphizing the floursack's movements was an interesting challenge.

"BAZ Walkcycle"

The prompt was to develop a character and then animate that character's walk. I developed Baz, an odd but confident lawyer on an alien planet. I wanted Baz's striking eyes to stand out as he moved.
